Boylan Haven Mather Academy 

 Endowed Scholarship Fund

In 2010 we establish a scholarship at Claflin,

a prestigious academic institution of similar origins. The

scholarship will serve as a "baton" to future generations

from the young people who came through

Mather's doors and went on

 to make this a better world.

We will preserve the vision of founder Sarah Babcock,

and the spirit of Lula B. Bryan, Evelyn "Ma" Gittens,

John Roy Harper Sr.,  Mary Dorn, Thelma Walker,

Barbara Boultinghouse and many others

 who believed education is an indispensable avenue to

 achievement for African Americans. Give To Perpetuate Mather's

Legacy of Education! A "Boylan-Haven Mather Academy

Alumni Memorial Scholarship" 

at Claflin will help eligible Education majors afford to

pursue their years of study.
